Founded in 2002 by a quintet of colleagues from breeding powerhouse Adena Springs–Dan Hall, Mark Roberts, Sergio de Sousa, Jack Brothers, and Danny Vella–Hidden Brook began as a modest Thoroughbred boarding facility in Paris, Kentucky. From the start, the founding team brought a wealth of hands-on experience in every facet of the industry: equine reproduction, feed and nutrition, sales prep, pedigree analysis, and bloodstock advisory.
As our reputation grew, so did our operation. The farm expanded from 300 to 600 acres of limestone-rich land in Bourbon County, at the heart of Kentucky’s Thoroughbred country. We also added a second base in Ocala, Florida, offering professional breaking and training services on a 100-acre facility with a three-quarter-mile dirt track and ample turnout.

Over the years, we’ve developed a complete, start-to-finish Thoroughbred program that supports horses and clients at every stage: breeding, boarding, training, sales prep and consignments, and racehorse ownership. That full-service model has produced Grade 1 winners and champions like Straight No Chaser, Moira, Jaywalk, Arabian Lion, Big Brown and Game On Dude.
Today, founding partners Hall, Roberts, and de Sousa remain at the helm, joined by Kevin Latta. Jack Brothers continues to contribute in a valued consultancy role.
Much has evolved, but one thing hasn’t: our values. Hidden Brook Farm remains honest, independent, and client-focused. We believe great horses come from great teamwork, and we treat each horse like an individual, not a number.
