Classic contenderPuca, a graded stakes placed daughter of Big Brown, out of Boats Ghost, by Silver Ghost, was foaled, raised and sold by Hidden Brook for owners Jerry Crawford and Paul Pompa, Jr. Currently owned by Donegal Racing, Puca turned in a runner-up performance in the Grade 2 Gazelle Stakes on April 4th, earning her a trip to Kentucky to contest the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks. Puca will be piloted by Junior Alvarado for conditioner Bill Mott.
Kentucky Derby hopefulFiring Line, raised and sold by Hidden Brook, is coming off a dominating 14-1/2 length win in the Grade 3 Sunland Derby. Prior to that race, Firing Line ran second to Derby darling Dortmund in the Grade 3 Robert B Lewis Stakes, earning him a 104 Beyer. Bred by Clearsky Farms, the Line of David colt, out of the Hold For Gold mare Sister Girl Blues, and is owned by Arnold Zetcher. Trainer Simon Callaghan has veteran champion Gary Stevens in the irons.
