Monday, July 6, 2015

Returning to her impressive winning form, Merry Meadow ruled the field of nine in the Grade 2 Princess Rooney Stakes on Sunday, scoring by a length-and-three-quarters in the six furlong test.
Javier Castellano guided the five-year-old daughter of Henny Highes, who broke up front and conceded the lead to press the pace before sweeping past her rival in the final three sixteenths.
Part of the Summit of Speed hosted at Gulfstream Park, the Grade 2 Princess Rooney Stakes was Merry Meadow’s third graded stakes win in her last four starts. She also notched wins in the Grade 3 Hurricane Bertie Stakes in February and the Grade 3 Sugar Swirl Stakes in December.
Trained by Mark Hennig for owner/breeders David Howe and William Parsons, Merry Meadow has earnings of $842,800, and is currently ranked among the top 100 racehorse earners in North America for 2015.
Congrats to all the connections!
