Hidden Brook grad Tiz Shea D notched his first graded stakes win in the Grade 2 Indiana Derby, improving off three previous graded efforts in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes, the Grade 1 Wood Memorial and the Grade 2 Peter Pan Stakes.
Rating just behind the speedy Mr. Z, who led from the start, Tiz Shea D was forced wide to avoid the drifting pacesetter in the stretch but motored to the lead for a poweful one and a quarter length win under rider Jose Lezcano.
Bred in Kentucky by Green Lantern Stables and trained by Bill Mott for Brous Stables, Gary Barber and Wachtel Stable, Tiz Shea D was consigned as a yearling by Hidden Brook at the Fasig-Tipton July sale. He now has earnings of $460,056.
Congratulations to all the connections!
