Catch My Drift notched her first stakes victory with an impressive performance in the $100,000 Summer Colony Stakes at Saratoga on Monday, beating the 6-5 favorite Tiz So Sweet by 6-1/4 lengths.
Breaking from the third post, Catch My Drift tracked the frontrunners from several lengths off the pace before a huge move approaching the final turn saw her closing the gap and pulling away with ease. Ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr., and trained by Chad Brown, Catch My Drift improved her earnings to $240,540.
The four-year-old daughter ofPioneerof the Nile, who narrowly missed the win in the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm Handicap recently, was purchased by Hidden Brook as a yearling from the 2012 Keeneland September Sale for a modest $95,000.
The field included notable runner Samantha Nicole, a full sister to Rachel Alexandra, who was third.
Congratulations to all the connections!
