Under a patient ride by Shaun Bridgmohan, White Rose sat in mid-pack throughout much of the the $200,000, 11-furlong turf event before engaging Eastern Belle at the top of the stretch and stopping the clock in 2:11.48.
White Rose paid $20.00 for the win, $8.30 to place and $4.40 on the show. Owned by Jake Ballis and NBA basketball pro Rashard Lewis, thefive-year-old daughter of leading sire Tapitis trained by Bill Mott.
Bred in Kentucky by J.S. McDonald out of the El Prado stakes mare Garden Dance, White Rose was purchased on behalf of Ballis and Lewis for $225,000 at the 2012 Keeneland two-year-olds in training sale. Congratulations to all the connections!
