Valentine’s Day was merry for the connections of Hidden Brook grad Merry Meadow at Gulfstream Saturday as she romped in the $150,000 Hurrican Bertie Stakes (G3).
Earning her third straight stakes win for owners/breeders William Parsons Jr. and David Howe, the five-year-old daughter of Henny Hughes followed quick opening fractions before pulling ahead at the half mile.
Rider Javier Castellano timed the move perfectly and Merry Meadow opened up by several lengths before her commanding 9-1/2 length finish. Trained by Mark Hennig, Merry Meadow now has earnings of $693,550.
