If you look up “good day at the racetrack,” don’t be surprised if there’s a picture of owner Michael Dubb there.
When Offering Plan scored in the $125,000 Kingston Stakes, Dubb collected his third New York-bred Showcase Day stakes trophy on Memorial Day at Belmont Park. Dubb owns the six-year-old horse he owns in partnership with Nantucket Thoroughbreds, Bethlehem Stables and Gary Aisquith. Offering Plan was sold by Hidden Brook at the 2013 Fasig-Tipton Yearling sale to Mayberry Farm who resold the horse to Dubb and partners at the OBS April Two-Year-Old auction.
Favored at 4-5, Offering Plan rallied from last in early stretch under Javier Castellano to triumphby 1 3/4 lengths in 1:35.11 over the “good” Widener Turf Course. The victory won his second consecutive this year and his second consecutive in the Kingston Stakes.
Offering Plan enjoyed his annual winter freshening at Hidden Brook South before returning with an handy Allowance score at Keeneland on April 8.
“This is a hard-hitting horse,” Dubb said. “We debated about racing him at Pimlico, but we made the decision to stay here where he’d be even-money. That was (trainer) Chad (Brown’s) wish. I leave everything to Chad. I just show up and take pictures.”
Offering Plan is now a 7-time winner from 19 starts with three seconds and three thirds. His career bankroll stands at just under $575,000.
