Hidden Brook Florida Grad ‘Frolics’ in Miss Gracie Stakes

American Frolic closed with authority to win the $75,000 Miss Gracie S. by 1 1/2 lengths over Midnight Soiree at the Saturday program at Gulfstream Park.

American Frolic broke with the field and settled off the pace, trailing as favorite Treasure for Gold set fractions of 26.05 seconds for the opening quarter and 49.88 for the half-mile. Under Miguel Vasquez the bay filly advanced along the rail on the final turn, angled out five wide into the stretch, and proceeded to run down the leaders while covering the distance on firm turf in 1:31.58.
American Frolic races in the colors of her breeder Stride Rite Racing Stable and has won 3 of her past 5 outings to up her career bankroll to $160,295.
She is the latest 2018 stakes-winning graduate of the Hidden Brook Florida Breaking Training training facility in Ocala, Florida. Others include Houston Ladies Classic (G3) heroine Tiger Moth, multiple stakes winner Lipstick City and the 2-year-old stakes winner Jaywalk.
