Hidden Brook Florida Breaking Training grad Jaywalk was named Champion Two-Year-Old Filly at the Eclipse Awards ceremony at Gulfstream Park.
The speedy roan capped a near perfect juvenile season under the Twin Spires at Churchill Downs when romping home a 5 1/2-length winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) on November 2. In the process, the daughter of Cross Traffic rose to the top of her division.
Jaywalk dropped her initial start at Monmouth Park last June, finishing second while sprinting five furlongs, but returned a month later over a muddy track at Parx Racing to score by 7 1/2 lengths going the same distance. Trainer John Servis immediately tested his charge against stakes rivals and Jaywalk passed with flying colors when posting a 1 1/2-length victory in the White Clay Creek Stakes at Delaware Park on August 22.
Next up came the Frizette Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park on October 7, and Jaywalk led from gate-to-wire to record a 5 3/4-length win under jockey Joel Rosario. The pair reunited for the Breeders’ Cup and ended up duplicating their Frizette performance with another front-running triumph.
Bred in Kentucky by Gainesway Thoroughbreds, Jaywalk sold for $190,000 as a Keeneland September yearling. She is out of the Orientate mare Lady Pewitt, making her a half-sister to Grade 3-placed multiple stakes winner Danzatrice.

She is campaigned by D J Stable LLC and Cash is King LLC, and has thus far racked up $1,384,200 in earnings to go along with a 5-4-1-0 career mark.
