Hidden Brook Bred My Gal Betty a Sovereign Award Finalist

The Jockey Club of Canada has announced the finalists for the 2018 Sovereign Awards honoring the country’s champions and recognizing their outstanding achievements.
Hidden Brook Farm bred My Gal Betty is a finalist in the 2-Year-Old Female category. Racing for William K. Werner, the daughter of Point of Entry was triumphant in the $100,000 Catch a Glimpse Stakes, over a field that included fellow finalist Bold Script. She then earned a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) with a strong runner-up finish in the Natalama Stakes (G1).

Mr. Werner purchased My Gal Betty for $120,000 out of the Hidden Brook consignment at the 2017 Fasig-Tipton October Yearling sale.
The winners of the 12 horse categories and five human categories will be announced at the 44th Annual Sovereign Awards Ceremony Thursday, April 18, at Chateau Le Jardin in Woodbridge, Ontario. Finalists for Canada’s Horse of the Year Award are announced during the ceremony.
A win by My Gal Betty would give Hidden Brook Farm a unique champions double. Jaywalk, the Eclipse Award winner for Two-Year-Old filly in the U. S. is a graduate of Hidden Brook South.
