Hidden Brook graduate Finnegans Wake returned to Kentucky to snag a Grade 1 victory on Derby day, winning the $500,000 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic (G1-T) at Churchill Downs.
Surging from last under rider Victor Espinoza, Finnegans Wake made a huge outside bid and just nipped the frontrunners at the wire for the score.
Out of the Silver Ghost mare Boat’s Ghost, the Kentucky bred son of Powerscourt was foaled, raised and sold by Hidden Brook for breeders Jerry Crawford.
